In accordance with Apple App Store Privacy guidelines, we declare the collection of the following data types, linked strictly to your identity for core app functionality and product personalization:
- Precise Location: Collected while background or active location monitoring is enabled to track real-time routes, estimate arrival times, and send exact GPS coordinates to your emergency contacts during alerts. Used for App Functionality.
- Name: Collected during registration to personalize your profile and identify you to your emergency contacts in safety alerts. Used for App Functionality & Product Personalization.
- Email Address: Collected for account creation, OTP verification, password recovery, and account updates. Used for App Functionality.
- Phone Number: Collected for contact verification and SMS/communication routing during emergency alerts. Used for App Functionality.
- Physical Address: Collected when setting up starting points, destinations, and accommodation stay locations. Used for App Functionality.
- Emergency Contacts Info: Names, phone numbers, and emails of trusted contacts designated by you to receive alerts. Used for App Functionality.
- User Content & Photos: Optional profile picture uploads and stay check-in photo receipts. Used for App Functionality.
3 How We Use Your Information & No Tracking Promise
We use your data solely for the following safety and operational purposes:
- To monitor active journeys and temporary stays for overdue check-ins.
- To trigger instant emergency alerts to your designated emergency contacts upon duress PIN entry or missed safety check-ins.
- To send push notifications and reminders according to your configurable in-app preferences.
- To maintain account security and prevent unauthorized access.
No Third-Party Tracking: BlackApp does not track users across third-party websites or apps, and we do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.
4 Data Protection & Encryption
Security is at the core of BlackApp. Sensitive fields including passwords and security PINs are encrypted using industry-standard hashing algorithms (bcrypt/JWT authentication). We do not store plain text PINs or passcodes, ensuring that silent duress PINs cannot be compromised.
5 Data Sharing & Disclosure
We strictly do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or location data to advertisers or third parties. Location data is shared exclusively with your chosen emergency contacts during active emergency alerts or journey check-ins as authorized by you.
6 Your Rights & Account Controls
You maintain full control over your privacy settings within the app:
- Toggle Tracking: Enable or disable background location tracking anytime from your Profile screen.
- Notification Preferences: Independently customize Emergency Alerts, Journey Reminders, Location Updates, and App Updates.
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account and clear all stored data directly in the mobile app or by contacting support.
